CLEAN & CARE GUIDE - Lacquer-treated timber, vinyl, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) or laminate floors

Note: Before starting a new cleaning regimen, always check product descriptions and test products on an inconspicuous spot to ensure compatibility.

This guide is not suitable for oil-treated timber floors.

STEP 1  - PROTECT

As the old saying goes, 'prevention is better than cure', so we recommend preventing dust, sand, grit, and debris from scratching your floors by removing outdoor shoes when entering your home.

It’s also a good idea to add felt feet to the bottom of your furniture and make sure your vacuum cleaner has a scratch-free attachment.

STEP 2 - DUST

Frequency: Often, ideally every day

Keep your floors free from abrasive particles such as dirt, dust, and debris by dusting or sweeping them daily with a soft broom and regularly vacuuming with a scratch-free vacuum attachment.

STEP 3 - CLEAN

Frequency: Ideally, several times a week

Products: WOCA Master Cleaner and WOCA Spray Mop

Vacuum your floors with a scratch-free attachment, then clean with WOCA Master Cleaner to remove dirt & increase the floor's resistance to liquid spills.

Master Cleaner is best applied with the WOCA Spray Mop, as you can spray it on and mop it off without leaving excess water on the floor.

Simply add 25ml of WOCA Master Cleaner to the Spray Mop cartridge and fill it with water. Pull the handle to spray diluted cleaner onto the floor and mop off.

The WOCA Spray Mop's velcro pad is a gentle yet effective cotton-microfibre blend that can be machine washed at 40°C and replaced when worn out.

After cleaning, it's best to empty the mop cartridge, refill it with clean water and activate the sprayer to clean the spout.

Tap water and cleaner mixes should not be left in the cartridge for more than ten days, as ions in the water will cause the molecules to separate.

If you prefer to use a WOCA Cotton Twist Mop to clean your floors, we recommend using two buckets, one with WOCA Master Cleaner (diluted in a 125ml cleaner to 5L of warm water mix) and one with clean water to rinse the floor.

Removing most of the water before mopping the floors is essential when using a cotton mop. Flooring, especially timber floors, should never be saturated with water.

STEP 4 - DEEP CLEAN

Frequency: As needed

Product: WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner and WOCA Spray Mop

If your floors are very dirty or your need to remove stubborn stains or grease, WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner is your best bet!

WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner is not suitable for regular, everyday cleaning. It should be used as a deep cleaner for occasional use or to prepare your floor for WOCA Master Care rejuvenation treatments.

You can apply WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner with a WOCA Spray Mop. Simply add 50ml of cleaner to the cartridge and fill it with water. Then spray onto the floor and mop.

After mopping, remove the soap mix from the cartridge, refill it with clean water and activate the sprayer to clean the spout.

If you prefer to use a WOCA Cotton Twist Mop to clean your floors, we recommend using two buckets, one with WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner (diluted in a 125ml cleaner to 2.5L of warm water mix) and one with clean water to rinse the floor.

Make sure you squeeze out most of the water before mopping the floors. The mop should be damp, not wet, as saturating floors with water can damage them.

STEP 5 – STRENGTHEN & REJUVENATE

Frequency: As needed, between every three months and once a year

Products: WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner, WOCA Master Care and WOCA Spray Mop

WOCA Master Care is an excellent rejuvenating treatment for lacquered, vinyl, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and laminate floors.

It helps to extend the life of your flooring by smoothing minor scratches, increasing resistance to dirt and spills and protecting against wear and tear.

Before applying WOCA Master Care, clean the floor with WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner, as explained in Step 4.

WOCA Master Care is not a concentrated product, so you do not have to mix it with water. Instead, pour a small amount onto your clean floor and distribute in a thin, even layer so the floor looks shiny (it will dry to a matt finish!)

You can use your WOCA Spray Mop to distribute the WOCA Master Care but do not add the product into the Spray Mop cartridge as it will damage the sprayer.

Instead, dampen the Spray Mop pad and use it to distribute the WOCA Master Care that you have poured on the floor.

And always ensure you wash the Spray Mop Pad in the washing machine at 40°C after use.

Leave the floor to dry thoroughly, and do not apply additional product once the floor starts to dry.

Caring for your floors does not have to be a hassle; following these five simple steps will help your floors retain their beauty. Invest in proper floor care today and enjoy the benefits for years to come!
